Students speak at events to implement the SDGs

At the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (https://farabi.university/) on April 19, 2024, a leadership lecture on global warming was held, attracting the attention of students and experts to the most important topic of our time. The event was held at the international level, with the participation of representatives of the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The lecture was attended by students from 5 leading universities in Kazakhstan: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Gumilyov Eurasian National University., Saken Seifullin KATRU, Almaty Management University, Narikbayev University. One of the speakers at the event was Liza Khamit, an environmental activist, a 2nd year master’s student of “Forestry Management” at the Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. She gave a presentation on the topic “The Seventh Continent: Discovery, Area, Location,” in which she elaborated on the problems of the emerging “Pacific Garbage Patch,” which has an impact on global warming. The speech aroused great interest from the audience; they received answers to questions about the situation with environmental protection, the consequences of global climate change, and the need to take measures to mitigate negative impacts. The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing and highlighted unity in the desire to protect our planet, highlighting the importance of joint research and development of strategies to address climate change challenges.
