The Open Day for school graduates and their parents entitled “The Future is in the Hands of Educated Youth” was today at the Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University.
During the event, KATRU was visited by more than 300 schoolchildren and teachers from schools in Astana, Akmola, and Karaganda.
The purpose of the event is to help graduates choose a profession and get acquainted with the material resources of the university.
Today, parents were able to evaluate the university in terms of the quality of education, infrastructure, safety and comfort, as well as to learn about job opportunities after receiving higher education. Faculty and faculty staff, in turn, could get acquainted with potential applicants.
At the opening of the open day, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Roza Abisheva made an opening speech: she introduced school graduates to the potential of KATRU and wished them success in making the right decision in choosing a profession.
The general manager of the Department for Academic Work, Abdikerim Tolbayev, the general manager of the Department of Academic Mobility and International Cooperation, Madina Musayeva, provided information about the university, educational programs, changes in UNT, academic mobility programs and international cooperation.
During the meeting, school principals and school teachers were awarded letters of gratitude for their active contribution to career guidance work.
From March 5 to April 22, as part of the 130th anniversary of S. Seifulin, a video competition “University through the eyes of youth” was held and the winners were awarded. 2nd year student of the Faculty of Land Management, Architecture and Design Dias Isabay was awarded a smart watch, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Land Management, Architecture and Design Adema Kanalbay and Sanzhar Bazarbekov, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Technology were awarded a smart speaker, and the rest participants were awarded letters of gratitude.
Potential applicants, who received detailed information about the university, visited the laboratories of the university faculties after the Open Day ceremony.
